Biography
My name is Eloy H. Medina. I was born and raised in Bayard, NM. My father not only devoted many years of service to his beloved copper mines but was also a volunteer fire fighter. My mother worked in retail and made sure the family home was always cared for. I began my career in the Gila Regional Medical EMS in 1990. I then transitioned to Silver City Fire Department in 1993. After retiring from fire as a Captain, I continued my career in EMS at Gila Regional as a paramedic and I am currently serving as the EMS director. I have always had a passion for assuring the wellbeing of my community. I became a member of the Bayard City council in 2018 and recently in 2023 became a county commissioner.
I have always been devoted to Public Safety, Education, and the want to create a better community for the citizens of Grant County. This was what drove me to run for County Commissioner and my family and community continues to be my drive.
I have a bachelor’s degree from Eastern NM University. My Fiancé Kimberly and I have always stressed the importance of education and hard work to our children. Together we have 6 kids and 1 granddaughter. When making decisions for my community I always reflect on how it would affect my family and yours. I am a firm believer in an open-door policy. Please reach out with any concerns. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
