It is the mission of the Grant County Airport to provide a modern, safe, all-weather airport, enabling our community to take advantage of aviation services such as airline travel, emergency travel or services, easy access into and out of Grant County, as well as many other services, which enhance the quality of life in Grant County.
About the Airport
The Grant County Airport is owned and operated by the Grant County Commission. Built in 1951, Grant County Airport continues to provide a wide range of benefits to the citizens of Grant County and Southwest New Mexico.
T- Hanger rental and ground leases (for those who wish to build their own hanger) are offered by the Grant County Airport. For availability and pricing contact the Airport Manager at the numbers listed below.
Grant County Airport is also home to the Gila National Forest Aerial Fire Base and Fire Cache. Forest Fire fighting support is provided throughout the Southwestern United States from this base.

When leaving Silver City on Highway 180 East/Silver Height Boulevard, the drive is approximately 18 miles to the "Airport Road/Ridge Road" turn off. The turn off is located between mile marker 131/132. Grant Count Airport is located 2 miles off of U.S. 180. Once you enter Airport property (past the second cattle guard), you will continue on until you reach the second Grant County Airport Sign on the right. Advanced Air is located inside the David Diaz Terminal. There is free limited parking available.
